Rider dies after being hit by a university bus

A cyclist was killed after being crushed by the wheels of the Islamic University (EB) Sinai bus. The incident took place on Tuesday (November 19) around 10 am at Jailkhana intersection in Kushtia. In protest, the bus driver was beaten up and the bus vandalized by the angry crowd.
The deceased is Zahidul Islam (60), a resident of the housing area of Kushtia city. He is a tailor by profession.
According to local sources, around 10 am, the double decker bus carrying students to the university left for the university through Jailkhana junction of the city. At that time, the bus hit Zahidul Islam, a cyclist coming from the opposite direction. He was crushed by the wheels of the bus and died on the spot.
Eyewitnesses said that the double-decker bus carrying students was heading towards the university at Jail Khana junction in Kushtia city around 10 am. At this time, the bus hit the cyclist Zahidul Islam from the front. Zahidul Islam was killed on the spot. Later the agitated locals beat the bus driver Salim and vandalized the bus.
In this regard, OC Shihabur Rahman of Kushtia Model Police Station said, 'A person named Zahidul was killed after being crushed by the wheels of the bus of Kushtia Islami University. Bus driver Salim was injured in the attack of the angry crowd. The bus involved in the accident has been impounded.'
