Students protest in Chilmari demanding the resignation of the head teacher

Alleging various irregularities in Kurigram's Chilmari, the students of Sharif's Hat MU High School started a protest demanding the resignation of the headmaster Abdur Rauf. They have been protesting since August 31. On Tuesday (September 3) in the afternoon, under the leadership of Masud Mia, a former student of the institution, the students holding banners from the institution held a protest march at the Upazila Parishad premises. At this time, the students chanted slogans demanding resignation in the Parishad premises.
Abdur Rauf, the head teacher of the institution, expressed his surprise as to why the movement was going on even after announcing on social media that he would resign if the allegations against him were found to be true.
He also said that the Upazila Nirbahi Officer Minhajul Islam was spoken to. He is on vacation. He will investigate the complaints of the students when he comes after the vacation. I will resign if found guilty in the investigation. But I am innocent.
Masud Mia, a former student of the school, said that Abdur Roub sir has been accused of various irregularities including financial irregularities, arbitrariness, recruitment, political influence. He has turned the institution into a den of corruption. We demand his resignation.
In this regard, the upazila executive officer and president of the institution, Minhajul Islam, said that they have received complaints from the students. The matter will be looked into.
