The Golden SDS International Limited factory located at Kohinoor Gate, Nayarhat, Ashulia, Savar has declared a holiday today due to tension among the workers over the death of a female worker.
It is learned that yesterday (October 13) a female worker of the factory fell ill and was taken to a local hospital and the doctor on duty declared her dead. The news of the death quickly spread in the factory and the workers started protesting, accusing the authorities of neglecting their duties.
A general holiday was declared in the factory yesterday due to the initial protest. But when the workers came to the factory today and wanted to protest again, accusing them of neglecting their duties, the owners declared a general holiday again for today.
The factory authorities did not agree to make any comments to the journalists. In this regard, the Superintendent of Police of Industrial Police-1 said, “The workers have been protesting since yesterday, accusing them of neglecting their duties. The factory has been declared holiday today as the owners have not provided any solution.”
There is anxiety and concern among the workers over this incident. Labor leaders say that it will be difficult to avoid such incidents in the future unless safety and responsibility are ensured in the workplace.
