The demands of Saeed's family to the Prime Minister

Abu Saeed's mother Manowara Begum has demanded maximum punishment for the murder of those killed in the conflict in the quota reform movement and to build a mosque in his name to preserve his memory.

He made this demand during a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban on Sunday (July 28).

Mother Manwara Begum said, the police shot dead my son, I want justice for him. Such a trial should be done so that no one dares to bare a mother's chest. The Prime Minister has assured us that justice will be done. My demand is that the government should build a mosque in the name of my son. People will pray there, pray for Abu Saeed.

Abu Saeed, student of Begum Rokeya University (Berobi). The video of the unarmed student's death, which went viral through media and social media, has shaken the entire nation. Recently Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed grief over the death of Abu Saeed.

The head of the government handed over savings certificates and cash assistance to 34 families including Abu Saeed in a ceremony at Ganobhaban on Sunday afternoon.

Abu Saeed's sister Sumi said, "The honorable Prime Minister consoled us and told us that he also lost his entire family to the hands of the killers." Parents, brothers and sisters, relatives were not left out by the killers. 10-year-old younger brother Sheikh Russell was also killed. That grief is unbearable.

Saeed's sister Sabina Yasmin said, we met the Prime Minister and the Speaker. I told you about our problems. Speaker is our Pirganj MP, he wants to come to our house.

After meeting with the Prime Minister, Abu Saeed's father demanded that no other child should have to die like this. The head of government has to ensure suitable environment for that.

By the way; Abu Saeed was one of the coordinators of Begum Rokeya University in the quota reform movement. He is a 12th batch student of English department of the university. Abu Saeed was the only university student among the 9 children of his parents. On July 16, there was a clash between the police and Chhatra League-Youth League students who were protesting for quota reform at Park Mor adjacent to Begum Rokeya University. Meanwhile, Abu Saeed, who was caught in front of the procession, was shot dead by the police. In this incident, the heat of the movement spread throughout the country including Rangpur.
