Youth electrocuted while hanging Brazil flag

A youth died after being electrocuted while hanging the flag of his favorite team Brazil ahead of the Football World Cup in Manikganj. The tragic accident occurred in Bhatbaur area of Sadar Upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased, Faisal Hossain (18), was working as a nozzleman at a local filling station. He is a resident of the area and the son of Munnu Mia.
According to local sources, Faisal climbed a mango tree to hang the Brazilian flag on the occasion of the World Cup. A high-voltage power line passed over the tree. While installing the flag, the stainless steel pipe in his hand suddenly came into contact with the power line and he was electrocuted.
Eyewitnesses said that he fell down from the tree immediately after the incident. Later, he was quickly taken to Manikganj General Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead.
The filling station authorities said that due to the gusty wind, the pipe went out of control and touched the power line. The accident occurred within a moment.
Police said the body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy. The body will be handed over to the family after completing the necessary legal procedures.
The tragic death of a young football lover has cast a shadow of grief over the area.
