Attempted rape of a two-year-old girl in Panchagarh, teenager arrested

Police have arrested a teenager in Debiganj, Panchagarh on charges of trying to rape a two-year-old girl by calling her on the pretext of playing.
The tragic incident took place in the Uttar Para area of Debiganj Municipality around 10 am on Saturday (July 25).
According to local sources, the accused teenager called the child to his house on the pretext of playing. There, when he tried to rape the child, the matter came to the attention of the child's uncle. When he saw him, he immediately screamed and the neighbors rushed to arrest the teenager and detained him.
Later, the child's mother went to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) office, hoping for a fair trial. After being informed about the matter by the administration, the victim's family was advised to approach the Debiganj Police Station for legal action.
On Monday, Debiganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Abu Musa said that the accused teenager is currently in police custody. A written complaint has been received from the victim's family. The child has been sent to the hospital for necessary health check-ups. Further action is being taken in accordance with the legal process in this incident.
