Four Killed in Clash Over Dominance in Narail

Four people were killed in a violent clash between two rival groups over dominance in Singasholpur Union of Narail Sadar Upazila on Monday (February 23) at around 5:30 AM. The incident took place in the Borkula village area and was confirmed by Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Oli Mia of Narail Sadar Police Station.

According to police and local sources, a long-standing dispute had been ongoing between supporters of former Union Parishad chairman Khayer and the group led by Khalil Rahman. The tension escalated early in the morning, leading to a fierce confrontation between the two sides. Locally made weapons were reportedly used during the clash.

As a result of the violence, Khalil Rahman, his son Tahazzud Hossain, and Ferdous Hossain—members of the Khalil group—were killed on the spot. From the rival group, Wasibur, an associate of former chairman Khayer, was critically injured. He was taken to Narail District Hospital, where doctors in the emergency department declared him dead.

Following the incident, additional police forces have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order. OC Md. Oli Mia stated that necessary legal action is being taken against those involved.

Tension remains high in the locality, and law enforcement agencies are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any further violence.
