NTRCA to recruit teachers in new system instead of 19th teacher registration

A big change is coming in the teacher recruitment system in private educational institutions. Instead of 19th teacher registration, teachers will be recruited in a new system on the model of Special BCS, the Non-Government Teachers Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) has said.
NTRCA Chairman Md. Aminul Islam said that the recruitment rules are being amended to remove inconsistencies in teacher recruitment. The amended rules have currently been sent to the Law Ministry for vetting. Once approved from there, the Education Ministry will issue it in the form of a gazette. From then on, the teacher recruitment process will start under the new rules.
He said, “If this rule is issued, there will no longer be a separate teacher registration exam. Recruitment notices will be published based on the number of vacancies. Candidates will not have to sit through the registration.”
A big change is also coming in the examination system. There will no longer be a preliminary, written and oral examination stage like the current one. A combined exam like the Special BCS will be taken under the new rules. For example, there may be a written test of 200 marks - this will include both MCQ and written parts. Finally, an oral test (viva) will be taken.
According to the new rules, age will be calculated from the date of publication of the notification. This will eliminate age-related complications for candidates.
The NTRCA chairman also said, “Instead of the upcoming 19th teacher registration, teachers will be recruited through a new system. This will make it possible to complete the recruitment process quickly and there will be no delay.”
