HSC and equivalent examinations have been postponed indefinitely. The matter was confirmed in a circular from the Ministry of Education on Wednesday (August 7).
It was signed by Syed A., Deputy Secretary of Government Secondary Branch-2. Z. Morshed Ali.
According to the notification, the HSC and Equivalent Examination 2024 examinations to be held from August 11, 2024 have been postponed due to unavoidable reasons and the detailed schedule of the examination will be notified later.
Due to the violence surrounding the quota reform movement, the ongoing HSC and equivalent examinations have been suspended in phases considering the safety of the students. The boards have postponed the eight-day examination in three phases. Later it was announced that the exam will be held in the new schedule from August 11.
In the current situation, first the HSC exam on July 18 was postponed. Then all the exams on 21, 23 and 25 July were postponed as the situation worsened. In the third phase, all the examinations scheduled from July 28 to August 1 were postponed by the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee.
HSC and equivalent exams started on June 30. This year, the total number of examinees under 9 general education boards, technical boards and madrasa boards is 14 lakh 50 thousand 790 people.
