Bangladesh Supreme Court lawyer Md. Zakir Hossain has sent legal notices to 6 models and actresses, including 3 producers, on charges of obscenity during the Celebrity Cricket Champions Trophy-2025. The complaint states that these stars wore obscene clothes and behaved in an obscene manner during the cricket match, which could cause obscenity in the society. Among them are the names of models and actresses Maria Mim, Cynthia Yasmin, Keya Payel, Marufa Akhter Zaman, Shammi Islam Nila and Alisha.
Responding directly to this complaint, Maria Mim said that her choice of clothes is her personal matter and she always plays in a regular jersey on the field. She called the allegations completely baseless and defamatory and said that her reputation has been damaged as a result of sending a notice against her and she will file a defamation case against the lawyer. Mim said, “The obscenity allegations are baseless, because the videos are basically of warm-up moments before the match, which someone recorded on a mobile phone and spread.”
Maria Mim also believes that Md. Zakir Hossain has given legal notices against them to increase his personal popularity. She alleged, “The lawyer has taken such steps to go viral, he has no business doing so.” Various opinions are being expressed on social media about this incident and discussions have started about its impact on the organization of the Celebrity Cricket Champions Trophy-2025.
Later, Maria Mim is preparing to file a defamation case against lawyer Md. Zakir Hossain. She said that she will take necessary legal action against the legal notice and take all measures to protect her reputation.
