Popular Actress Pori Moni Reports Death Threat Over Phone, Raises Security Concerns

Bangladeshi film actress Pori Moni has alleged that she received a death threat through a phone call from an unknown foreign number. According to the actress, the caller used abusive language and issued explicit threats, warning her against speaking or sharing opinions related to voting and political issues on social media.
The Dhallywood star shared a video of the phone conversation on her verified Facebook page, drawing public attention to the incident. In the video, the call is shown to have originated from a number traced to Cuba, with the unidentified caller allegedly threatening her life in an aggressive and intimidating tone.

In the caption accompanying the video, Pori Moni questioned the motive behind the threat, writing, “Are we not allowed to share anything about voting? Who are these people?” She also tagged the official Facebook pages of the Bangladesh Army, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and Bangladesh Police, urging authorities to take notice of the matter.
Speaking about the incident, the actress said the caller suddenly contacted her from an overseas number and immediately began using vulgar language. She claimed the individual warned her not to comment on voting or post anything on social media, threatening severe consequences if she did. Pori Moni described the incident as deeply disturbing and said it has raised serious concerns about her personal safety.
Meanwhile, the actress remains active in her professional career. Several of her films are awaiting release, and she has recently signed a new project titled Golap, in which she will star opposite actor Nirab. Filming for the movie is expected to begin soon, according to sources close to the production.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many fans and observers demanding an immediate investigation and stronger measures to ensure the safety and freedom of expression of artists and public figures.
