Actress Tanjin Tisha has been granted bail after appearing in court in a case of fraud and breach of trust. The case was filed against her on charges of not paying the price and fulfilling the promise of promotion after buying a saree from an online fashion page.
On Thursday (August 13), at 11:25 am, the hearing of the case began in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Jewel Rana. After the hearing, the court granted Tanjin Tisha bail.
Earlier, after reviewing the investigation report of the case, the same court issued a summons against Tanjin Tisha on July 12. She was ordered to appear in court on August 13.
According to the charges in the case, Tanjin Tisha bought a saree worth about Tk 28,800 from the online fashion page 'Aponia'. The plaintiff alleged that she later stopped communicating with him despite being promised to promote the saree and pay its price.
A case was filed against her on charges of fraud and breach of trust in this incident.
However, after the allegations were made, Tanjin Tisha claimed in a statement on social media that the saree was given to her as a gift. Therefore, she said that the question of paying for it did not arise.
According to the plaintiff, although a legal notice was sent to Tanjin Tisha in this regard, no response was received from her. Later, a case was filed in court in November 2025.
On the court's orders, the Detective Branch (DB) investigated the case and submitted a report. The investigation report mentioned that the preliminary truth of the allegations had been found. After that, the court issued a summons against Tanjin Tisha.
As per the instructions, the actress appeared in court on Thursday and applied for bail. After the hearing, the court granted her bail.
The further proceedings of the case will continue as per the procedure prescribed by the court.
