Almost 100% salary and bonus payment in operational factories in Dhaka-Chittagong

Almost 100% of the operational ready-made garment factories in Dhaka and Chittagong regions have already paid their salaries for March and April and Eid bonuses. In addition, significant progress has been seen in the payment of advance salaries for May.
This picture has emerged in a special report prepared based on information received until Tuesday (May 26). The report said that there are currently a total of 2,134 operational factories in Dhaka and Chittagong. Of these, 100% of the factories have paid their salaries for March.
The salary payment rate for April has reached 99.72 percent, which is 2,128 factories in terms of number. At the same time, 99.58 percent or 2,125 factories have been given Eid bonuses.
Progress has also been seen in the payment of advance salaries for May. So far, 94.80 percent or 2,023 factories have paid their workers' advance salaries.
Regionally, out of 1,794 operating factories in Dhaka, 1,790 have paid April salaries and Eid bonuses. In the same zone, 1,703 companies have paid May advance salaries.
Out of 340 operating factories in Chittagong zone, 338 have paid April salaries and 335 have paid Eid bonuses. 320 factories have received May advance salaries.
Meanwhile, factories are being given holidays in phases to ensure the smooth return of workers before Eid. According to the information, 6 percent of workers left Dhaka on May 24, 37 percent on May 25, and 43 percent on May 26. The remaining 14 percent of workers will return home after the holidays on May 27.
Those concerned believe that due to the cooperation of the government and the coordinated efforts of the employer-employee sides, it has been possible to pay salaries and bonuses on time this time, which has ensured relief and a normal environment for workers before Eid.
