Iran is earning $2 million a day from the Strait of Hormuz!

Iran's foreign exchange earnings have not stopped despite the ongoing tensions with the United States and Israel. On the contrary, the country is making huge profits every day by taking advantage of the war situation. According to a report by the international media outlet Bloomberg, Iran is currently earning an average of about $139 million a day, almost all of which comes from oil exports.
After the conflict began on February 28 of this year, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) imposed a blockade on the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. This strait, which connects the Arabian Sea and the Persian Gulf, is one of the main routes for global energy trade. The crisis in this strait, known as the 'global gateway to fuel', has forced other oil-exporting countries in the Middle East to look for alternative routes and have reduced oil production in many cases. Iran is taking full advantage of this situation.
According to intelligence and market analysts, Iran is currently exporting about 1.06 million barrels of oil a day. Oil from the country's mainland is first taken to the terminal on Kharg Island, then reaches the international market via the Persian Gulf.
Iran earns money not only from oil exports, but also from tolls collected from ships using the Strait of Hormuz. It is reported that this sector earns about two million dollars a day.
In a statement given to the news media Reuters, Richard Nephew, a senior researcher at the Global Energy Policy Institute, said, "One of the objectives of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East was to weaken Iran's oil sector, but in reality it has created new economic opportunities for the country."
