Iran has taken full control of the Strait of Hormuz by driving away a US warship

Iran has claimed to have taken full control of the Strait of Hormuz by forcing a US warship to retreat. According to the country's media, Tehran is talking about establishing its dominance in this important waterway amid recent military tensions.
According to the report, it has been difficult to establish control in the Hormuz region due to the presence of the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln deployed in the Arabian Sea. However, Iran claims that the warship has now moved hundreds of miles away from Iranian waters due to their missile activity and military pressure.
An Iranian naval commander has warned that if US forces come close again, they will be targeted with coastal missiles.
International oil tankers pass through the Hormuz Strait, one of the world's most important energy corridors. Since a large portion of global energy is transported through this route, any tension over its control could have a major impact on global markets.
However, there has been no independent international verification of Iran's claim. According to analysts, both sides are making such claims to show their strategic position in the ongoing conflict.
If the situation continues, tensions between the United States and Iran over the Strait of Hormuz could escalate further, which could pose a major risk to global energy security.
