US President Donald Trump has expressed his interest in taking control of Iran's fuel oil and main oil export center Kharg Island. He said this in an interview with the influential newspaper Financial Times.

Trump said that Washington now wants to establish full control over Iran's oil and is also considering deploying US forces on Kharg Island if necessary. He compared this strategy to the recent US policy in Venezuela.

In the interview, he directly said that taking control of Iran's oil is the most important goal for him. He also commented that those who criticize such steps are 'wrong'.

Highlighting the importance of Kharg Island, Trump claimed that the island's defense system is weak and that US forces could easily take control of it if they wanted to. It is worth noting that about 90 percent of Iran's crude oil is exported from this island.

According to analysts, if the island is seized, it could cause a major blow to Iran's economy and severely affect the country's energy exports.

However, experts warn that such a move could pose a major risk to international law and regional stability. Such statements, especially in the midst of the ongoing Middle East conflict, could further escalate the situation.

International media outlets Al Jazeera and BBC reported that the Trump administration has various military and economic options at its disposal. However, there is still debate about how realistic it is to launch a direct operation or take a long-term position in strategic areas like Kharg Island.
