Red passports with special privileges issued in the name of former ministers, MPs and their family members of the Sheikh Hasina government have been canceled and stored personal information has been seized.
Apart from this, the Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered strict vigilance so that they cannot leave Bangladesh or travel to any third country using invalid passports. Passports of 589 former ministers-MPs and their family members have been canceled so far.
Those concerned say that as a result of this action, it will be difficult for those who have already crossed the border including Sheikh Hasina to move freely on foreign soil. Apart from this, the path to political asylum will be closed due to lack of valid passport or recognized travel document.
