Councilor Noman arrested in Tangail anti-discrimination student movement Maruf murder case

RAB-14 has arrested Councilor Tanveer Hasan Ferdous Noman of Ward No. 1 of Tangail Municipality in the murder case of Maruf Mia (14), a class 10 student who was shot dead in Tangail during the anti-discrimination student movement.
He was arrested at 10 am on Sunday (September 22) from Babystand area of Tangail town. Later, RAB handed over Noman to Tangail Sadar police station in the afternoon. RAB-14's squad commander (ASP) confirmed the matter. Abdul Baset.
The arrested Tanveer Hasan Ferdous Noman served as the panel mayor of Tangail Municipality. He is accused number 16 in this murder case.
On Sunday afternoon Noman was sent to the court by applying for a seven-day remand.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Tangail Sadar Police Station Tanbir Ahmed said, RAB handed over Councilor Noman to us after the arrest. Later, Noman was sent to the court seeking a seven-day remand. However, the remand hearing has not yet taken place.
It is to be noted that on August 18, Maruf's mother, Morsheda Badi, filed a murder case with Tangail Sadar police station accusing 56 people including former Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzak and Commerce State Minister Ahsanul Islam Titu. Unknown 150 to 200 people have been made defendants in this case.
