Formal trial of the July-August genocide begins at the tribunal

Thursday at 11:30 a.m. International Criminal Tribunal Chairman Justice Md. A bench led by Ghulam Mortuza has begun trial at the International Criminal Tribunal for the alleged massacres that took place in July and August during the anti-discrimination student movement.
On the first day, the prosecution team of the tribunal will seek arrest warrant against 50 people including Sheikh Hasina.
The chairman of the tribunal, Justice Golam Mortuza Majumdar, came to the International Criminal Tribunal on the first working day after his appointment last Tuesday (October 15). In addition, two members of the tribunal, Justice Md. Shafiul Alam Mahmud and retired District and Sessions Judge Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury came to the tribunal that day. At this time the Registrar and other officials of the Tribunal welcomed them.
