Panchagarh District Awami League President and Former Railway Minister Murder Case - Bail Rejected

The court has rejected the bail of former Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan, the main accused in the case filed on November 10 (Sunday) for the murder of a rickshaw puller named Al Amin, who participated in the anti-discrimination student movement in Panchagarh, and then disappeared, and sent him to jail.
When he was produced before the Panchagarh Senior Judicial Magistrate Court at 10 am on Sunday (December 01), the court judge Md. Ashrafuzzaman rejected his bail application after the hearing.
Earlier, on Saturday (November 30) night, the former minister was brought to the Panchagarh District Jail in a prison van from the Dhaka Central Jail under the guard of the police and army.
According to court sources, Al Amin disappeared after participating in the anti-discrimination student movement in Panchagarh.
In this incident, Al Amin's father, Manu Mia, filed a murder and disappearance case on November 10, accusing 19 people, including district Awami League president and former railway minister Sujon, and 150 other unidentified people in the case.
The other accused in the case are - former Awami League MP from Panchagarh-1 constituency Naimuzzaman Bhuiyan, former MP from the same constituency Mazharul Haque Prodhan, district Awami League general secretary Anwar Sadat Samrat, district Awami League organizing secretary Ariful Islam Pallab, district Chhatra League president Abu Noman Hasan, general secretary Sadman Sadiq Plabon Patwary, former Panchagarh municipality councilor Ashraful Islam, Hasnat Md. Hamidur Rahman, Panchagarh municipality Awami League president Kazi Al Tariq, general secretary Humayun Kabir Ujjwal, and 19 others have been named.
In this regard, Advocate Adam Sufi, Public Prosecutor (PP) of Panchagarh District and Sessions Judge Court, said, Al Amin was a frontline fighter of the student-people's movement.
He was killed and disappeared. When the main accused in this case was produced in court, we opposed the accused. The court rejected his bail and ordered to send him to jail. A remand application will be filed very soon.
Meanwhile, the defense lawyer Mirza Sarwar Hossain said, Advocate Nurul Islam Sujan has been made the main accused in the complaint. He was shown arrested. After he was produced in court, an application was made for bail, the court rejected the bail. However, the court granted him division. At the same time, since the complaint in which the allegations have been made, since the victim cannot be found, it cannot be covered under Section 302 in any way. We have informed the court about the matter.
