The road in front of the Indian Embassy is now 'Shaheed Felani Road'.

The road in front of the Indian Embassy in Dhaka's Gulshan has been named as 'Shaheed Felani Road'. An organization called the People's Activist Coalition installed the nameplate on Friday afternoon in protest against the border killing.
It is learned that as per the earlier announcement, the police stopped the activists of the pack from installing the nameplates around 4:30 pm. Then they chanted 'Delhi na Dhaka, Dhaka Dhaka', 'Break the black hands of the fascists'. At one stage, a nameplate was installed saying 'Shaheed Felani Road'.
On January 7, 2011, 15-year-old Felani was shot dead by the BSF at the Anantapur border of Phulbari Upazila in Kurigram while returning from India with his father. His body was hanging on the barbed wire for more than four hours. The hanging body of Felani made a stir in the media of the country and abroad.
