The adviser of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology has been included in the Time Magazine's 2024 'Time-100'. He is also one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement. Every year the famous magazine publishes this list of 100 most influential people in the world. Time magazine published this list on Wednesday.
Nahid is one of the many leaders of the movement. His exposure to the public increased after he was tortured by Bangladesh's notorious intelligence agency.
Nahid Islam became known by leading the student movement in Bangladesh last July-August. At that time, he played a major role in the uprising as the coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement. In particular, on August 3, Nahid announced a one-point demand for the anti-discrimination student movement in the gathering of millions of people at Jatiya Shaheed Minar. And that one-point demand is the resignation of this government along with the then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was ousted on August 5 in that movement. He was forced to leave the country and take refuge in India. Since then Nahid became popular.
