The President called upon everyone to work together irrespective of caste and religion to advance the country

President Md. Sahabuddin in a congratulatory speech on Sunday (October 13) at Bangabhaban on the occasion of Sharidiya Durgotsava and Vijaya Dasami with eminent and distinguished persons of Hindu religion.

The President said, "The basic message of all religions is human welfare. We are all Bangladeshis. Everyone is built on the same formula. There is no place for majority or minority here. All are one and the same entity. Religious values ​​should be used for the welfare of the country and people. The non-communal spirit, mutual unity, amity and harmony existing in the contemporary Bengali culture will contribute effectively to the formation of a beautiful future and modern Bangladesh.

He said, "Humanity is in crisis today due to the war and conflict situation in the whole world. The Russia-Ukraine war and Middle East news have deeply affected the economy of Bangladesh along with the entire global economy. Besides, the people of the flood-affected areas of the country are living an inhumane life.

With the great vow of philanthropy, the President called upon the countrymen to stand by the helpless people during this crisis of the country.

Md. Sahabuddin said, "There is no alternative to absolute tolerance, mutual trust and trust and cooperation to make Bangladesh a developed, prosperous and discrimination-free country in the current changing situation."

Mentioning that the independence of Bangladesh was achieved through the bloody liberation war in 1971, the President said, "People of all religions of Bangladesh will celebrate their religious ceremonies with due dignity and joyous atmosphere - this is everyone's expectation."

The President congratulated all the Hindus of the country on the occasion of Autumn Durga Puja, one of the main religious festivals of the Hindu community.

He said, traditional Bengali traditions and culture are mixed with autumn Durgotsavam. Durga Puja is a religious festival as well as a social festival. The collective participation of all has made this festival universal.

The President said, 'Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony. Communal harmony is a unique feature of our culture. To accelerate national progress and prosperity, existing harmony and mutual amity in the society should be kept intact.

He also said that this year's victory pledge should be to build a progressive and peaceful social system for the new generation in the bond of mutual sympathy, harmony and human values.
