Electoral Reforms Commission head Badiul Alam Majumder said that it has been recommended to cancel the vote in that constituency if it gets less than 40 percent of the vote. He told reporters at the Election Commission building in Agargaon in the capital on Tuesday.
The commission head also said that those involved in disappearances, murders and crimes against humanity will not be able to run for office. This proposal has been made to reform the election system against corruption, which has not been adopted for any malicious purpose, but rather with the aim of governing the electoral arena well.
Badiul Alam Majumder said that a commission will be formed to try the Chief Election Commissioner and other commissioners for their failure to fulfill their constitutional duties in the past three elections. They will be tried through an impartial investigation.
He also said that the commission is not in favor of keeping any party away from the election, but the people of the country and political parties will decide in the future about the participation of those involved in crimes against humanity in the elections.
