Amid the clash between Dhaka University and students of seven colleges, students of the government Bangla College have blocked the road. They started blocking the road in front of Gabtoli Technical Intersection in the capital around 12 noon on Monday (January 27).
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Darus Salam Police Station Rakibul Hossain said that the students blocked the road for about half an hour. This was part of their central program. However, traffic on the road is currently normal.
The OC also said that no untoward incident or vandalism of vehicles took place. Earlier, students of seven colleges blocked the road at Science Lab Intersection, Technical Intersection and Tanti Bazar from 6:30 pm on Sunday. They alleged that the DU Pro-VC (Education) behaved indecently and ignored the issue regarding the problems of the seven colleges and the reduction in the number of admission seats.
The students demanded a public apology from the Pro-VC of Dhaka University.
