National Consensus Commission discussion postponed over Uttara training plane crash

The second phase of the ongoing discussions of the National Consensus Commission with political parties over the Bangladesh Air Force training plane crash at Milestone School and College premises in the capital's Uttara Diabari, causing casualties, has been postponed today.
The National Consensus Commission discussion began in the capital at 11 am on Monday. Today's topic of discussion was "Provision of the Prime Minister holding multiple positions and principles of running the state".
Although the discussion was supposed to resume as usual after the lunch break, the discussion did not resume after the news of the plane crash reached the Uttara area at 1:06 pm.
As soon as the news of the plane crash reached the meeting venue, representatives of the political parties and members of the commission present stood and observed a minute's silence. During this time, prayers were offered for the victims and prayers were prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
National Consensus Commission Vice Chairman Ali Riaz said, “A Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashed in the Uttara Milestone College premises at 1:06 PM today, Monday. We have received reports that many people have been injured in this incident. The National Consensus Commission expresses deep shock and sorrow over this tragic incident.”
He also said, “We pray for the eternal peace of the deceased and express our sincere condolences to the bereaved families. We also call on the concerned authorities to take appropriate medical measures for the injured.”
Ali Riaz added, “At this time of disaster, all political parties and every citizen of the country should stand by the injured and cooperate.”
In the morning discussion, there was a series of exchanges of views on the Prime Minister’s holding multiple positions and the principles of running the state, but no consensus could be reached in the half-day discussion. Today’s discussion has been postponed due to the tragic circumstances of the plane crash.
