List of 115 symbols published, no Shapla; Boat suspended, scales reinstated

The Election Commission (EC) has issued a notification reserving 115 symbols ahead of the 13th National Parliament elections. The notification signed by Election Commission Secretary Akhtar Ahmed was published on Wednesday.
However, the long-awaited symbol of the National Citizen Party (NCP), Shapla, is not on the list of symbols. The party sent a new e-mail to the EC secretariat requesting allocation of Shapla, white Shapla or red Shapla symbols, but the commission had already made it clear that the Shapla symbol will not be there this time.
Awami League's boat suspended, Jamaat's scales returned
The notification mentions that although the Awami League's party symbol, Boat, is on the list, it has been suspended. The EC also suspended the party's registration as the political activities of the Awami League were banned by the government's decision. On the other hand, with the reinstatement of Jamaat-e-Islami, their old symbol, Scales, has returned to the list of symbols.
Number of symbols increased to 115
The Parliamentary Election Conduct Rules earlier had a total of 69 symbols. This time it has been increased to 115. Currently, there are 50 parties registered under the EC. A few more parties are going to get registration in the future.
