The hospital authorities have claimed that the health minister's statement regarding the controversy over the license issue in the capital's Ad-Din Hospital is completely baseless. At the same time, they have claimed that there was no incident of them approaching the minister with any kind of money.
The hospital's executive director, Dr. Sheikh Mohiuddin, said at an emergency press conference, "We have never gone after the minister with money. If there is any such allegation, it must be proven."
He also said that they have clarified that Ad-Din Hospital is not involved in any way in the writ petition filed in the High Court against the decision to cancel the hospital's license.
In response to a question about the child deaths, he said that it is still not possible to say for sure what caused the deaths. He also claimed that the matter was not clarified in the Health Ministry's report. He also commented that uncovering the real cause has become more complicated since the autopsy of the dead children was not conducted.
Earlier, at an event, the Health Minister claimed that some parties had tried to approach him with crores of taka to protect the hospital's license. In response to that allegation, the Ad-Din Hospital authorities made this new statement and challenged him to present evidence legally and ethically on the matter.
