Former Minister of State for Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak was not allowed to go abroad by airport authorities.
According to airport sources, Palak went to Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with two of his personal officers around three o'clock on Tuesday. However, he was kept in immigration custody without being allowed to board the plane.
The source also said that two of Palak's personal officers wanted to go to Nepal. They were also sent back.
Sheikh Hasina's resignation led to the fall of her government on Monday. In the face of student movement, he resigned and left the country. Discussions are underway to form an interim government.

Palak was elected Member of Parliament for the first time from Natore-3 constituency in 2008. Since then he has been a Member of Parliament three times. During the anti-discrimination student movement and mass uprising, Palak came under criticism for repeatedly shutting down the internet and making various comments about it.
"If I have done anything wrong to the younger generation, I am publicly apologizing," Palak said at a funeral meeting in Natore's Singra on August 2. I take responsibility for the disruption of the internet and the failure to prevent rumors on social media.'
