The newly appointed Inspector General (IGP) of Bangladesh Police has ordered all policemen across the country to return to their respective police lines, offices, POMs, barracks by the evening of August 8. Moinul Islam.
He gave this information in a press briefing after taking charge as IGP on Wednesday (August 7).

He said that he could not fulfill his duties as per the expectations of the countrymen by focusing on the logical movement of anti-discrimination students. Because of this, many people are angry. Many are not in their respective units. We want to start anew to ensure the safety of people's lives and property. Therefore, everyone is being instructed to return to their respective workplaces within the next 24 hours, i.e. Thursday evening, August 8.
Admitting that there were operational errors in suppressing the student movement, the IGP said that many people including students and the police were killed. I am sorry as IGP for everything.
