Another murder case against Sheikh Hasina in Chittagong

Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been accused in a murder case filed at Panchlaish police station in Chittagong city. The case was filed by his mother Josna Akhtar in the case of Wasim Akram, a student of Chittagong College who was shot dead during the anti-discrimination student movement.
The case was filed at the city's Panchlaish police station on Sunday (August 18) night.

Names of 108 people including M Nashir Uddin and General Secretary Nurul Azim Roni who were dismissed from Mahanagar Chhatra League have been mentioned. At the same time, another 100 to 150 people have been named as accused. Almost all the accused are leaders and activists of Awami League and its affiliates and affiliates.
It is mentioned in the statement of the case that Wasim Akram was in front of Barcode Restaurant in Muradpur of Panchlaish police station between 3 pm and 4 pm on July 16. At that time there was a strong logical movement of students against discrimination. During the agitation, cadres of Awami League, Jubo League, Swachhasebak League and Chhatra League attacked the students with weapons.
Wasim was present at the spot at 3-4 pm that day. At that time, other accused and Muhurmuhu attacked the gathering with batons, hockey sticks, kits and deadly firearms on the orders of the accused. At one stage, Wasim fell down after being shot in the chest and navel by the indiscriminate shots fired by the accused. Later he was rescued and taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Santosh Kumar Chakma, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Panchlaish Police Station told Dhaka Post that the case is under investigation. The accused will soon be brought to book.
It is known that the deceased Wasim Akram is a student of Sociology Department of Chittagong College. He was in charge of the joint convenor of the same college Chhatra Dal. His house is in Ward No. 9 of Sadar Union of Pekua Upazila of Cox's Bazar District.
Earlier, a case was registered in connection with the death of HSC examinee Tanveer Chiddiki (19) in Chandgaon police station area of the city on August 17. A total of 34 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury were made accused in the case filed by Mohammad Parvez, the uncle of the victim student. In the same case, 40 to 50 people are named as accused.
