Tarique Rahman gives green signal to over 200 candidates

BNP is on the verge of finalizing its candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections. According to party sources, over 200 candidates have already received the green signal, and the vetting process is underway for about 50 seats. After saving some seats for like-minded parties and alliances, a final decision will be taken on the remaining seats.
Party acting chairman Tarique Rahman is directly communicating with the aspirants and giving instructions to the selected candidates to conduct their activities. Instructions are being given simultaneously to the candidates in those areas where division or conflict has arisen. A warning has also been given of taking organizational action if any instructions are disobeyed.
Discussions have been completed with potential candidates in various constituencies including Barisal-5, Dhaka-4, Dhaka-8, Dhaka-13, Dhaka-16 and Dhaka-17. Besides, candidates have been instructed to start working in the areas of Panchagarh, Kurigram, Pabna, Chuadanga, Jessore, Khulna, Bhola, Barisal, Faridpur, Jamalpur, Tangail and Sunamganj.
According to party sources, the field survey for the elections has already been completed and the candidate list is in the final stage. In many areas, young leaders will be given priority, and some promising leaders of Chhatra Dal may be nominated in the elections this time.
