Jamaat's apology is genocide: Mahin Sarkar (NCP)

The National Citizens Party (NCP) has rejected Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman's apology for past mistakes. NCP Joint Member Secretary Mahin Sarkar said that Jamaat was not only wrong, what they did was 'genocide'.
On Thursday (October 23), Mahin Sarkar wrote on his verified Facebook page, "The people of this country have not suffered a little from Jamaat-e-Islami. They were not just wrong—what they did was genocide." He further questioned if it was really a minor mistake, then why did they oppose the provision of punishment for genocide in the recommendation for the next constitutional amendment after 24.
NCP leader Mahin Sarkar has warned the Bangladeshi people to be aware of those involved in genocide and activities against the country's interests. He stressed that forgetting past history or asking for forgiveness can never be a reason to belittle these activities.
Through this statement, the NCP has once again brought to the fore the issue of Jamaat's political and moral responsibility, so that the people of the country can be aware of the damage and killings caused in the past.
