52 candidates have filed nominations for five constituencies in Jamalpur, number of candidates may increase

A total of 52 candidates have filed nominations for the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections from five parliamentary constituencies in Jamalpur district so far. These nominations were collected in the last week of December 2025.
According to the District Election Office, candidates have filed nominations until Sunday (December 28). Constituency-wise, BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Jatiya Party, Ganadhikar Parishad and independent candidates have filed nominations for Jamalpur-1 (Dewanganj-Bakshiganj), Jamalpur-2 (Islampur), Jamalpur-3 (Melandah-Madarganj), Jamalpur-4 (Sarishabari) and Jamalpur-5 (Sadar) constituencies.
The highest number of candidates have filed nominations for Jamalpur-3 constituency, where a total of 16 candidates have expressed interest. Besides, 12 candidates from Jamalpur-4 constituency, and a significant number of candidates from multiple political parties and independents collected nomination papers in Jamalpur-2 constituency. Several leaders from major political parties also collected nomination papers in Jamalpur-1 and Jamalpur-5 constituencies.
Jamalpur District Election Officer said that more candidates may collect nomination papers within the time fixed by the Election Commission. As a result, it is expected that the number of candidates in the five constituencies of the district may increase further.
