Why is Khaleda Zia called an uncompromising leader?

Begum Khaleda Zia is called an “uncompromising leader” mainly because of some strong, risky and personal sacrifice-filled decisions she has taken throughout her political life. Not in short, a few important aspects can be highlighted to explain the matter—

1. Not compromising in exchange for power

There have been situations again and again where she could have chosen a comfortable life by compromising with power if she wanted. But she did not accept any benefits on the condition of changing her political beliefs and position. She gave priority to ideology, not power.
