Jamaat-e-Islami Holds Election Procession in Kalia

A large election procession was held in Kalia in support of Jamaat-e-Islami–nominated parliamentary candidate Obaidullah Qaiser for the Narail-1 constituency. The procession was organized by the 11-party electoral alliance and carried the party’s election symbol, the Scales.
The procession took place on Monday (9 February) at around noon. It began at the grounds of Munshi Abdus Salam Degree College and moved through the main roads of Kalia upazila town before concluding at the Kalia Bus Stand.
Following the procession, Obaidullah Qaiser—also the district secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami—addressed the gathering as the chief guest. In his speech, he said the election scheduled for the 12th is a crucial vote to “save the country” and represents a path toward the liberation of 180 million people. He described the election as one aimed at building a humane and just state and expressed hope that it would lead to the creation of a safe and secure Bangladesh.
He further stated that a nationwide momentum has already begun in favor of establishing a state based on justice, fairness, and humanity through this election.
Obaidullah Qaiser expressed optimism that supporters would remain united until election day and make the highest sacrifices necessary to secure victory. He said that despite intimidation and pressure, they would remain undeterred and achieve success with determination, “God willing.”
Among those present at the event were Kalia Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Tarikul Islam, Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Chhabed Mondol, Secretary Maulana Alamgir Hossain, Narail District Bangladesh Khilafat Andolan President Maulana Abdul Quddus, District Islami Chhatra Shibir Secretary Taj Mohammad, and other leaders of the 11-party electoral alliance.
