A woman has accused two leaders of the National Citizens Party (NCP) of sexual harassment and intimidation.
According to her complaint, she was invited to a bar of a luxury hotel on the promise of a party post. There, she said, a central leader misbehaved with her, encouraged her to smoke and drink alcohol, and repeatedly made immoral proposals. When the situation became increasingly uncomfortable, she left.
The complaint further states that another leader present there advised her to follow the central leader's instructions and left after some time. Later, the complainant claimed that she was threatened and offered political benefits when she did not agree to the proposal.
After the incident, she filed a general diary (GD) with Chawkbazar police station. Police said that the matter is being investigated and no final comment can be made until the investigation is completed.
No formal response has been received from the accused on the complaint.
