Rashed Khan terms Jamaat's long march 'illogical' but pledges cooperation

Rashed Khan, the Prime Minister's political aide, has described the long march announced by Jamaat-e-Islami as illogical. However, he stated that the government would cooperate with the program out of respect for differing opinions. He made these remarks while speaking to journalists near Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur on Friday.

Rashed Khan remarked that undertaking a program like a long march against the current government at this stage is not justified. He argued that such a program could increase public suffering and create opportunities for political instability. He also criticized the underlying motives behind Jamaat's program.

He further stated that road blockades are unnecessary for realizing the seven-point demands. He noted that prolonged road closures could lead to increased hardship for the general public, financial losses, and fuel wastage.

According to Rashed Khan, special attention is being paid to the law-and-order situation surrounding the Dhaka-Rangpur long march. He added that the police and intelligence agencies remain on alert.

Earlier, he visited Rangpur Medical College Hospital and held discussions with relevant officials and doctors regarding the improvement of healthcare services.
