Mushfiq became the first Bangladeshi to reach the milestone

Bangladesh put on a bad batting display in the Test against South Africa at Mirpur Sher-e Bangla Stadium. Due to which the visiting Proteas got a lead of 202 runs in the first innings. Then in the second innings, Nazmul Hossain Shanta's team lost 3 wickets and lost only 59 runs. Meanwhile, Mushfiqur Rahim became the first Bangladeshi to complete the milestone of 6,000 runs in Tests.
Mushfiq and Mahmudul Hasan Joy (38) are unbeaten at the crease before the end of the second day's play today (Tuesday). Bangladesh collected 101 runs for 3 wickets, they are still 101 runs behind the visitors. Mushfiqur is unbeaten on 31 runs, his runs have reached 6000 in Tests while scoring 28 runs. Before the start of the Mirpur Test, he needed 39 runs to reach the milestone of 6,000 runs in Tests as Bangladesh's first batsman.
However, Mushfiqur got out for just 11 runs in the first innings against the Proteas. As a result, he had to wait till the second innings to reach that milestone. Mr. Defendable played 93 Tests to score 6000 runs in Tests. So far he has 6003 runs in the format at an average of 38.48. Mushfiqur scored 11 centuries and 27 fifties in Tests. So far 74 people have scored 6000 or more runs in Test cricket.
The position of Tamim Iqbal is after him in this list. The former captain, who is currently out of the national team, has scored 5134 runs in 70 Tests. His fifty is 31 with 10 centuries. Shakib Al Hasan is number three in the list of highest run-scorers in Bangladesh. The all-rounder has scored 4609 runs in 71 Tests, looking to bid farewell to the format with ongoing Tests. Shakib scored 5 centuries and 31 fifties in this format.
Apart from this, Muminul Haque scored 4269 runs in 66 Tests with 13 centuries and 19 fifties. However, Muminul, known as 'Little Bradman', failed in both innings of the Mirpur Test. After 4 runs in the first innings, he got out for zero runs in the second innings. Habibul Bashar, the former captain of Bangladesh and currently head of women's cricket, scored 3026 runs in 50 Tests.
