While waiting for the Chittagong leg of the BPL to take place, the cricketers of Durbar Rajshahi have boycotted practice. They canceled the scheduled practice on Wednesday due to unpaid salary.
The Rajshahi team's practice was supposed to start at 10 am. However, a press release at 10:45 am informed that today's practice has been canceled.
In this regard, a cricketer of the Rajshahi squad said that they have not received their salary yet. None of the domestic and foreign cricketers have received the full amount, but the coaches have received 25 percent of their salary.
Rajshahi team manager Meherab Opi did not respond to this. However, the management has informed that the reason for canceling the practice is "rest".
Although the debate over salary has been going on since the beginning of the BPL, the problem has not been resolved yet. The BCB was in favor of giving the franchises some time.
Durbar Rajshahi are currently in sixth place in the points table with 2 wins and 4 losses from 6 matches. They need to win their remaining matches to secure a play-off spot.
Rajshahi will play 4 matches in the Chittagong phase and 2 matches in Dhaka. They will take on Sylhet Strikers in their first match in the Chittagong phase on January 17.
