South Korea showed a great fighting spirit in the first match of the FIFA World Cup. Despite falling behind by one goal, one of the strongest teams in Asia made a good start to the tournament by beating the Czech Republic 2-1.

In the 'A' Group match held in Guadalajara, Mexico, South Korea was seen playing aggressive football from the start. Although experienced captain Son Heung-min created several chances, neither team could score in the first half.

The match began to get dramatic after the break. In the 59th minute, the Czech Republic took the lead by taking advantage of opportunities created from corners and long throws. Although South Korea was under pressure for some time after the goal, it quickly returned to the match.

In the 67th minute, Hwang In-beom scored a goal with a great individual skill to equalize. After that, the Koreans took control of the match. South Korea took the lead in the 80th minute when Oh Hyun-gye's shot hit the goalkeeper's hand and went into the net.

The Czech Republic tried to equalize at the last minute, but the Korean defense showed determination. As a result, the Asian representatives left the field with a 2-1 victory.

With this victory, South Korea picked up three important points in Group 'A'. At the same time, they also maintained their successful streak against European opponents on the World Cup stage. On the other hand, the Czech Republic, who returned to the World Cup after a long break, had to leave the field in disappointment in their first match.
