There is a possibility of partly cloudy skies with thundershowers in the capital Dhaka and surrounding areas on Sunday (September 14). Meteorologists say that the sky may remain cloudy throughout the first half of the day, due to which the temperature may drop slightly.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department's Storm Warning Center says that winds may blow from the south and southwest at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour in Dhaka in the next six hours from 7 am. Along with this, there is a possibility of thundershowers.
At 6 am today, the temperature in Dhaka was 28 degrees Celsius and the humidity in the air was 90 percent. Earlier, the highest temperature recorded on Saturday was 33.2 degrees Celsius, and today's lowest temperature was 27.8 degrees Celsius. Only one millimeter of rainfall has occurred in the capital in the last 24 hours.
The Meteorological Department further said that light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong, Barisal and Sylhet and at some areas in Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions by 9 am tomorrow. Moderate to heavy rain may also occur at some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet.
Day and night temperatures are likely to remain almost unchanged across the country. Meteorologists have asked citizens to be prepared for unexpected rain.
