UP Chairman Shrighar while attending the case

The court sent Raniganj UP chairman Manjurul Islam of Chilmari upazila of Kurigram to the district court. He was arrested while applying for bail in the fight case at the Kurigram Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Monday afternoon.
Raniganj Union Awami League general secretary Jahangir Alam confirmed the arrest. According to the source of the case, a fight took place at Fakir Hat Bandh junction area of Raniganj Union on August 30 around 9 pm. Monarul Islam and Md. Dulal Mia were seriously injured. Raniganj Union Jubodal President Md Aslam (42) filed a case in the name of 11 people including Raniganj UP Chairman and Raniganj Union Awami League President Manjurul Islam.
Md. Aslam, president of Raniganj Union Jubo Dal, the plaintiff in the case, said that on the day of the incident, he was having a party discussion with BNP workers and supporters. At that time, the accused in the case made a surprise attack on us.
However, Jahangir Alam, the 9th ward member of Raniganj UP and the general secretary of Raniganj Union Awami League, accused No. 11 of the case, said that there was a fight between two groups of BNP over sand extraction. I have learned that some workers of BNP were injured in this. But Awami League leaders and activists have been accused to take the incident differently. The UP Chairman was arrested while appearing in this case.
