Quadruple Banglabandha land port closed for 6 days on the occasion of upcoming Durga Puja

On the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja celebration, the country's only quadrilateral Banglabandha land port (India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan) Banglabandha has announced the closure of import-export activities for 6 days by the import-export business organizations of the respective countries. However, even if import and export are stopped, port related activities will continue. It will be normal for passengers to pass through the immigration check post.

On Thursday (October 3) morning, former upazila chairman and convenor of Banglabandha Import-Exporter Group Rezaul Karim Shahin said that the main religious festival of Sanatan religionists is going to be held from October 10. A letter signed by Abdul Khalek, president of Fulbari Exporter and Importer Welfare Association of West Bengal, India informed us about the closure on the occasion of Puja celebrations. Accordingly, the business organizations of both countries have decided to stop import-export trade for six days from October 9-14.

Jahangir Alam, joint convener of Banglabandha Land Port C&F Agent Association, said that on the occasion of Durga Puja celebrations, the import-export activities of Banglabandha Land Port have been closed from October 9 to October 14, including public holidays. After the puja, the import-export operations of the port will resume from the morning of October 15.
However, even though the import-export activities of Banglabandha land port will be closed during Puja, all services related to the port will continue.
Amrita Adhikari, officer-in-charge of Banglabandha Banglabandha Immigration Checkpost, said that even though import-export is closed during Durga Puja, passport passengers will pass normally through Banglabandha Immigration Checkpost.
