Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that Operation 'Devil Hunt' will continue until it is completely over. He made this comment to reporters at the inauguration ceremony of the new Soil Resources Institute's Soil Building in the capital's Farmgate area on Sunday morning.
Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that many of those involved in the attack on students and the public in Gazipur have been brought under the law and the rest will be arrested soon.
The Home Affairs Advisor said that the operation will continue against those who want to create instability in the country. Operation 'Devil Hunt' will become a targeted campaign against the country's enemies, so that the country's peace and security can be maintained.
Earlier, the Ministry of Home Affairs was shaken after the terrorist attack on students at the house of AKM Mozammel Haque, a minister of the fallen fascist government, in Gazipur last Friday night. It announced the 'Operation Devil Hunt' operation. After that, the joint forces started a counter-offensive operation from Saturday night. Patrols were strengthened at important intersections.
Gazipur Police Superintendent Chowdhury Jaber Sadek said that 40 Awami League leaders and activists have been arrested so far in connection with the attack on students and the public.
Regarding the arrest of five senior police officers, the Home Affairs Advisor said, 'The countrymen are aware of the crimes of those who have been arrested.'
