Expelled BNP leaders are also active in politics! There is a stir in the Volunteers and Students' Party

Some leaders expelled from the BNP's affiliate organizations, the Volunteers' Party and the Students' Party have become active in political activities again. This has led to intense anger and criticism among party leaders and activists.
On October 19, expelled student leader Chakladar Golam Sarwar was seen in the foreground in a procession organized at the toll plaza of the Lebukhali Paira Bridge to welcome Patuakhali District BNP President Snehangshu Sarkar Kutty.
Earlier, Volunteers' Party leader GM Oliur Rahman, who was expelled after August 5 on charges of attacking and vandalizing shops, renewed his membership and posted on Facebook. There is widespread discussion and satire in the party circles about this.
Party sources said that Jubo Dal General Secretary Salauddin Ripon Sharif, Swechchhasebak Dal GM Oliur Rahman and Chhatra Dal convener Golam Sarwar were expelled for breaching discipline. Yet, they have been seen participating in recent processions and rallies.
District BNP President Snehangshu Sarkar Kutty admitted, “There are some irregularities, but we are trying to restore organizational discipline. The matter will be strictly looked into.”
Upazila BNP General Secretary Saiful Alam Mridha said, “I will talk to the district leaders about the expelled ones.”
Such breach of party discipline and the loud presence of expelled leaders have raised new questions within the BNP—is the effectiveness of ‘expulsion’ still intact in the party?
