Cursed goal! Is Ramsey a footballer or an angel of death?

Published: 11:44 6 September 2025
Aaron Ramsey is a force to be reckoned with on the football field, and he has impressed fans with his great play. But there is a terrible coincidence associated with his name—which many people are shocked to hear. That is the “Ramsey curse”.
It is said that whenever Ramsey scores a goal, some famous person dies within a short time. Although it is a mere coincidence, the events have coincided so many times that fans have started to consider it a kind of mystery.
That mystery has come to the fore again. Last Monday, Ramsey scored his first goal for the Mexican club Pumas UNAM. The goal scored in the very last minute of the match gave the team a 1-0 victory. The joy of the goal was not over yet, three days later the world lost a great man—the legendary Italian fashion designer and founder of the Armani brand Giorgio Armani. He was 91 years old at the time of his death.
This incident has once again stirred up social media. Someone wrote, “Giorgio Armani will be the first victim of the Ramsey curse in 2025.” Another joked, “Ramsey, either retire or stop scoring goals.”
The Ramsey curse began in 2011. Osama bin Laden was killed in a US military operation the day after he scored against Manchester United for Arsenal. After that, Steve Jobs, Muammar Gaddafi, Whitney Houston, Paul Walker, Robin Williams, David Bowie, Roger Moore, Olivia Newton-John, and many other famous people died within a short time of Ramsey’s goals.
So far, Ramsey has scored 78 goals in club football, and 21 goals for the national team Wales. But this ‘curse’ is more discussed than the joy of the goal.
In the words of fans—
“Rest in peace Giorgio Armani. You are the first victim of the Ramsey curse in 2025.” Dear Ramsey, please stop scoring goals!
Although Ramsey himself has not said anything about it, this mysterious coincidence still surrounds him. He is as much a mysterious “angel of death” in the eyes of fans as he is a footballer on the field!
