Forensic report finds evidence of rape in Ramisa murder case

Important progress has been made in the investigation into the much-discussed murder of child Ramisa in Pallabi, Mirpur, in the capital. Sources involved in the investigation said that new information about the incident has emerged in the latest forensic examination report.
Sources concerned said on Sunday (May 24), forensic analysis has found various important evidence and information about the incident. According to investigators, signs of mutilation were also found on the child's body after the incident. Preparations have been made to submit a charge sheet to the court against the main accused Sohel Rana and his wife Swapna Akhter in this incident.
Earlier on Saturday, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police handed over the DNA test report to the investigation officer. As part of the investigation, the information and data of the case have been verified through analysis of various evidence.
The government has assigned lawyer Azizur Rahman Dulu as the special public prosecutor to handle the case. Instructions in this regard have been issued by the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
According to investigation sources, the main accused Sohel Rana gave a statement in court on May 20. Later, the court ordered him to be sent to jail. On the same day, the other accused Swapna Akhter was also sent to jail on the court's orders.
Police said that the deceased Ramisa was a second-grade student of an educational institution in the capital. After she went missing, her family members recovered her body from a flat at one stage of the search.
After the incident, the accused Sohel Rana went into hiding but was later arrested from the Fatulla area of Narayanganj. The investigation agency claims that he gave important information about the incident during interrogation.
There has been widespread concern in the public mind surrounding this controversial incident. Those concerned have demanded speedy trial and justice after the investigation.
