After Honors, Shibir leader Sajjad leaves the hall on the day of results announcement

After Honors, Md. Sajjad Hasan Khan, Organizing Secretary of the Dhaka University branch of Islami Chhatra Shibir, has set a precedent of extraordinary success in the Masters examination in the Arabic department of Dhaka University. This student of the 2019-20 academic year secured the first place alone by achieving 4.00 CGPA in the Masters. On the same day, he also ended another important chapter of his academic life - he left the university's residential hall on the day of the results announcement.

According to university sources, the 2024 Masters second semester examination of the Arabic department was held in November 2025. The results were officially announced on Thursday (May 21) after the approval of the university syndicate. Sajjad left his residential hall seat immediately after the results were announced. The matter has generated positive reactions on social media and discussions among students.

In his reaction while leaving the hall, Sajjad said that since the formal chapter of his academic career ended with the publication of the results, he considered leaving the hall on the same day as a responsible decision. According to him, he entered the hall after the mass uprising of July 2024 and his hall life ended today.

He also spoke about the hall culture and housing crisis. According to Sajjad, one of the biggest problems of Dhaka University is the seat crisis. For a long time, various types of public rooms and guest room cultures have been created around this crisis, which has caused various sufferings for students.

He further said that his organization is committed to ensuring residential facilities for regular students and working to solve the seat crisis. He also mentioned the implementation of the policy of ensuring the presence of only legal and regular students in the hall.

Sajjad's move has sparked discussion among students from both sides - academic success and personal decision. Many are seeing it as an example of responsibility, while some have also started a new discussion about the real picture of the university's housing crisis.
