Terrifying King Cobra Spotted Near Everest

Published: 09:29 15 December 2025
The sighting of the world's longest and most dangerous venomous snake, the King Cobra, in the area adjacent to Everest has caused deep concern among scientists and environmentalists. Recently, a total of 10 venomous snakes have been identified in the area around Everest in Nepal. Researchers have confirmed that 9 of them are King Cobras and 1 is a Monoclid Cobra.
According to experts, King Cobras usually live in the warm and flat Terai region of Nepal. High mountainous areas and cold weather are not their natural habitat. As a result, the presence of this snake in a cold and remote area like Everest is completely unusual and carries a frightening indication.
King Cobra is a species of snake whose venom can kill an adult human with just one bite. Its venom is even so strong that it can take the life of an adult elephant. However, the main concern of researchers is not the snake's venom, but the change in the habitat of this species.
Environmentalists say that Nepal and the Himalayan region are experiencing rapid climate change and global warming. As temperatures continue to rise, areas where king cobras could not survive due to severe cold are now becoming suitable for them to live in.
Concerns have increased further because researchers have also found king cobra eggs in some areas adjacent to Everest. This means that they have started choosing this area as a permanent habitat, not just a temporary one. This could become a serious threat to human safety and local biodiversity in the future.
According to wildlife experts, this is a clear warning sign of climate change. Due to the rapid change in the natural balance, not only snakes, but also more dangerous and unusual animals may be seen in mountainous and cold regions in the future.
They warn that if effective action is not taken now, this change could have dire consequences for people, the environment and natural ecosystems. Experts believe that it is important to take international coordinated initiatives to combat the effects of climate change.
